Entry to Uganda: As of 3 September 2021 new COVID-19 measures are in place at all points of entry including Entebbe International Airport. All arriving passengers are required to provide a negative COVID-19 test certificate issued no more than 72 hours before boarding the aircraft to Uganda or crossing land borders. Foreign nationals without a valid negative test certificate will be denied entry.
Uganda is a unique destination offering a wonderful mix of savannah and forest parks. Gorilla and chimp trekking are highlights, but many smaller primates can be seen as well. Uganda also offers great savannah safaris, and all of the Big Five are present. Lion is quite common in Queen Elizabeth, Murchison Falls and Kidepo national parks, where they can often be found hunting Uganda kob.
Gorilla trekking can be conducted all year around in Uganda, Rwanda and Congo. The best time to go gorilla trekking in during the months of June, July, August, September and December. This is because there are less rains and the parks are drier, making it simple to hike and see the gorillas .In Bwindi the average temperature throughout the year is 11°C/52°F in the morning and 23°C/73°F in the afternoon.
Uganda has lifted some COVID-19 restrictions after 42 days, while others stay in place. The lockdown of schools remains until, the government says, some essential workers including health workers, security personnel, teachers, and those over 45 years old, are vaccinated.
Uganda is one of only three countries in the world where you can see the highly endangered mountain gorilla in the wild (only an estimated 900 remain). The two gorilla trekking spots in Uganda are Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.

Uganda has been ranked the happiest country in East Africa according to the World Happiness Report 2021 released by the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network. According to the report, Uganda ranked 83rd globally. In East Africa, Kenya followed at 86th while Tanzania at 94th globally.
The Ministry of Health has received the initial batch of 864,000 doses of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine, shipped via the COVAX facility-the world’s facility for universal access to COVID-19 vaccines.The vaccine doses were received at Entebbe International Airport by the Minister for Health,
The Gorilla Trekking in Uganda will always start with briefing at 8:00 at the headquarters to take you through about the dos and don’ts before you begin the trekking. At the same gorilla trekking permits have to be booked in advance before you start the tour.
