The most strongly airstrip in Kidepo Valley is Apoka Airstrip that strategically located within Kidepo Valley National Park near Apoka Safari Lodge. The airfield is safe, friendly and the landing way is favorable compared to Kidepo and Lomeja airstrip.

Flights to Kidepo Valley National Park Schedule

Flights to Kidepo Valley at Apoka airstrip departs Entebbe International Airport at 12:30 pm and arrives at 14:45 pm while the afternoon flight departs from Kidepo at 15:00pm and arrives at Entebbe 16:30 pm. Timing may vary depending on aircraft routing and it normally works 3 days in a week (Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday). There are tentative plans to an international airport at Apoka airstrip, so tourists can fly directly from other countries to Kidepo Valley. It’s very possible to visitors in Kidepo Valley to connect with other National Parks airstrip within Uganda or outside including Murchison Falls National Park to Pakuba, Bugungu and Chobe airstrip, Semuliki National Park to Semuliki airstrip, Queen Elizabeth National Park to Kasese or Mweya airstrip, Bwindi National Park to Kihihi airstrip or Kisoro airstrip and Lake Mburo National Park to Mbarara airstrip.

From this road journey of about 12-hour drive, we strongly advise our guest to divide it into two, especially guest coming from Kampala heading to Kidepo National Park they have an overnight at Boma inn or church hill courts hotel, and later in the morning they embark on your drive to Kidepo Valley National Park, this makes flying the easiest way to access the Kidepo Valley.
