The Uganda Wildlife Authority recently launched a festive season discount offer to incentivize Domestic, Regional and International tourists to travel to the National Parks in Uganda by reducing prices on Gorilla Permits, Chimpanzee Permits as well as National Park Entrance Fees from 01 December 2021 – 31st March 2021.
As the large majority of the UWA operating budget is made up of the revenue collected from Gorilla Trekking, Chimpanzee Trekking and Park Entrance Fees, the festive season discounts are being offered with a view to entice travellers to enable UWA to continue their conservation efforts.
It is also a reward to customers for their continued support throughout the years and more especially through the period of the COVID-19 pandemic. Here is a summary of the discounts that UWA have offered.
Gorilla Trekking Permits
East African Community residents reduced from UGX 250,000 to UGX 150,000
Foreign Resident reduced from USD 600 to USD 300
Foreign Non Resident reduced from USD 700 to USD 400
Chimpanzee Trekking Permits
East African Community resident reduced from UGX 150,000 to UGX 100,000
Foreign Resident reduced from USD 150 to USD 100
Foreign Non- Resident reduced from USD 200 to USD 150
Note: Though the reduction on Gorilla and Chimpanzee Trekking Permits only applies to new purchases between 1st December 2020 and 31st March 2021 and not on reschedules of already deposited on permits or purchases using credit letters.
