Reserving Uganda Wildlife Authority gorilla permits

UWA is the body in charge of issuing gorilla permits to see Uganda mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Mgahinga National Park. For one to book or secure Uganda Wildlife Authority gorilla permits (UWA permits), you will first of all choose which national park you want to visit. There two gorilla trekking national parks of Bwindi and Mgahinga that you can choose from. Requirements for Uganda Wildlife Authority gorilla permits

For Encounter Africa safaris to book and confirm your UWA gorilla permits for either Bwindi Impenetrable National Park or Mgahinga, we will need you passport details showing your nationality, date of birth as well as your names. UWA needs this because of several reasons. Your nationality is required because it affects the price of gorilla permits. If for example you are a citizen of any of the East African Countries of Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Kenya, Tanzania, you are entitled to a discounted gorilla permit price. If you are a foreigner but resident in Uganda, there is also a discount on gorilla permit price. The purpose of requesting for date of birth while booking UWA gorilla permits is that there is a gorilla trekking age limit or minimum age for one to trek gorillas or be authorized to acquire a gorilla permit to see gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park or Mgahinga National Park. The minimum age for one to book UWA permits to see gorillas in Bwindi or Mgahinga is 15 years and above. Children below the age of 15 years may also be allowed to trek gorillas only if, they are nearing their 15th birthday but not yet 15 years and are physically fit. If you have a child below the age of 15 years but nearing his/her 15ths birthday, do not hesitate to contact Encounter Africa safaris.
