Officially, Uganda’s dry seasons are from December/January through to mid March and from June through to mid-September. These dry months are the most popular with tourists, with July and August and Christmas and New Year being the peak seasons.

All arrivals from Category 1 (India) and Category 2 countries (USA, UK, UAE, Turkey, South Africa, Ethiopia, South Sudan, Kenya, and Tanzania) to Uganda will be subjected to PCR COVID-19 testing on arrival, regardless of vaccination status. 

All tourist vehicles must be licensed by the Ministry of Works and Transport and attached to tourism companies registered and licensed by Uganda Tourism Board. All tourists are encouraged to carry their detailed travel itineraries especially for inter-district routes. All tourist guides accompanying tourists must carry their identification.

Uganda tourism promotion on the gorilla and chimpanzee tracking will only apply to new purchases between 1st December 2020 and 30th June 2021 and will not apply to reschedules of already deposited on permits or purchases using credit letters. No reschedules will be allowed for

On arrival at Entebbe International Airport and at land border crossings, travellers will need to provide a negative COVID-19 test certificate issued no more than 72 hours before boarding the aircraft. Airlines have been directed not to allow passengers without a negative test certificate to travel.

Kibale’s most popular activity is the Kanyanchu Primate Walk. Thirteen species can be sought, and a good variety of diurnal monkeys invariably encountered, but the stars of this trail are the chimpanzees. Kanyanchu’s chimps have been tracked since 1993 and the chances of locating them are excellent.

Any traveler from the Category 2 countries, including the United States, will be subjected to a PCR COVID-19 test, at the traveler’s expense, at all points of entry into Uganda, including Entebbe International Airport.  These travelers will have to wait for their negative results before proceeding to their final destination in Uganda,

Travel to Uganda is subject to entry restrictions. If you are travelling to Uganda, you will need to provide a negative COVID-19 test certificate, issued no more than 120 hours before boarding the aircraft or crossing land borders. Foreign nationals without a valid negative test certificate will be denied entry.
