KAMPALA – Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) is expected to launch grey new products at the fourth edition of Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo (POATE) scheduled for 4 to 6 of February this year.

While addressing the International media at the 2019 Magical Kenya Tourism Expo, UTB CEO Lily Ajarova revealed that at the Expo, people in the travel industry will be given opportunities to experience new products that UTB has been developing.

“At the 2020 expo, we expect to launch great new products that we are working on and hopefully, we shall launch most of them at the Expo.” revealed Ms. Ajarova

“POATE 2020 will integrate business to business (B2B) and business to consumer (B2C) trade event format under the theme ‘Inspiring high-value engagement to promote intra-Africa travel for leisure, business, and adventure,’ aimed at raising Uganda’s profile as a preferred destination in the region and internationally.”

The Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo is an annual tourism event in the East African region organized by the Uganda Tourism Board. It brings together travel agents, tour operators, hoteliers, destination managers and other service providers in the tourism business.

POATE is a unique opportunity for tourism businesses to meet new clients, network, and market their services and products.

Tourism expos are not only a place to offer tourism capacities and strengths of the country for the public, institutions, and linked organizations but also introduces the institutions and organizations which are administrators in the field of tourism to the public.

Expos like these, have the ability to bring the world together in one room. This is why expos remain a powerful marketing tool for business, particularly for an experiential business in the tourism sector where buyers appreciate face-to-face negotiations.
