Why this route works
This itinerary deliberately moves through wetland → savannah → lowland forest → Congo-Guinea forest → aquatic habitats → Albertine Rift montane forest → woodland/savannah, rather than concentrating on one habitat. That gives birders a much broader potential species list. Similar two-week Uganda birding circuits use this combination of Mabamba, Murchison/Budongo, Kibale, Semuliki, Queen Elizabeth and Bwindi.
Recommended Ngoni Safaris setup: private extended 4×4 Land Cruiser with pop-up roof, one specialist birding guide, early starts each morning, packed lunches on long field days, and flexibility to stop whenever a target bird is located. For serious birders, I would prioritize the birding guide over the lodge category, because local knowledge is especially important for difficult targets such as Shoebill and Green-breasted Pitta.
