Dear Valued Client,
RE: UGANDA REMAINS SAFE FOR TRAVEL – UPDATE ON EBOLA REPORTS
On behalf of all of us at Ngoni Safaris, we want to thank you for your continued trust in us as you plan your upcoming journey to Uganda. We know that recent news reports regarding Ebola cases linked to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) may have raised concerns. We are writing to share the latest official information so you can travel with confidence and peace of mind.
The Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) has issued an official press release (dated 19th May 2026) clarifying the situation. Here are the key facts:
-
Two isolated imported cases were recorded involving Congolese nationals who entered from the DRC.
-
One patient sadly passed away and has since been repatriated. The second patient is receiving treatment under the Ministry of Health.
-
There is ZERO local transmission or community infection within Uganda.
-
Uganda’s Ministry of Health continues to operate world-class surveillance, screening, contact tracing, and rapid response systems.
Uganda is internationally recognized for its experience and effectiveness in managing Ebola outbreaks. At this moment, all national parks, hotels, conference venues, transport services, and tourism activities are operating completely normally. Life across the country continues without disruption.
We encourage you to follow standard hygiene practices – regular handwashing and use of hand sanitizer – as you would when traveling anywhere in the world. These simple measures keep you safe while you enjoy Uganda’s breathtaking gorilla treks, savannah safaris, and warm hospitality.
Uganda remains safe, open, and welcoming for tourism. Our team at Ngoni Safaris is monitoring the situation daily in close coordination with local health authorities. Your safety is our highest priority, and we look forward to giving you an unforgettable African adventure.
Please feel free to reach out to us directly with any questions or concerns. We are here for you.
Warm regards,
The Ngoni Safaris Team
