1-Day Great Shoebill Search at Mabamba Swamp

We start the journey toward Mabamba Swamp, a bit south of Entebbe. If you are lucky we might make some interesting sightings of birds along the way. When reaching Mabamba swamp we go out in small boats to search for the Rare Shoebill stork, lesser jacana, marsh harriers, African pygmy-goose, whistling ducks if its the right season the blue swallow, blue breasted bee eater plus many more aquatic birds of Uganda.

Itinerary

Mabamba Swamp

Day 1 – transfer to mabamba swamp for shoebill

 

Your guide picks you up in the morning as we start the journey toward Mabamba Swamp, a bit south of Entebbe. If you are lucky we might make some interesting sightings of birds along the way. When reaching Mabamba swamp we go out in small boats to search for the Rare Shoebill stork, lesser jacana, marsh harriers, African pygmy-goose, whistling ducks if its the right season the blue swallow, blue breasted bee eater plus many more aquatic birds of Uganda. Hopefully we can finish the experience off with having made a sighting of the Great shoebill stork. After lunch it is time for a walk around the beautiful botanical gardens. Here you find nice environment and interesting fauna at the shores of Lake Victoria. It is after this time to return to Kampala as we finish our journey.
